Charlie Adams and the Fire Tower

Last night we were able to be apart of Charlie Adams ghost stories of Berks County and got to meet a lot of interesting people and a lot of leads for new investigations to come including some more private residences, a library, a church, and more. Aug 20th change

We ended up having to cancel the private residence for the 20th till sometime in September. With that said were not going to not investigate this Aug. We have booked the William Penn Fire Tower for our fourth investigation. We look forward to getting back in there with some new toys and new members that haven't had the chance to experience this great historical landmark. So keep checking back we have lots of exciting things going on as we have nearly every month this year booked up Including one we are really excited about in Dec. I will have more on that a little later.

Our last private investigation

This investigation came to us from our friends over at Reading Paranormal. It happened to be in one of our fine city's row homes that was sectioned into a few apartments. These homes are old and kind of cramped. The claims from the owner were feelings of dread seeing shadows on the ceiling and hearing their names called from other rooms. When I met the client I walked her around the home with our EMF detector to show her the old wiring in the home and the fact that it was so cramped in this area EMF was present every where in the home in mid air, in the middle of a wooden door that was only less than a foot away from the fridge that lets off a ton of EMF. We investigated though out the night with no evidence of anything paranormal. The room where they claim the shadow was on the ceiling happened to have a air mattress as the bed in the room and it was only about 4 inches off the ground and the bad wiring in the floor were there were super high EMF readings. This is what we call a Fear Cage. I'm sure the wiring in this house was probably out of date and out of code and was causing her feelings of dread and hallucinations. ESP evidence upload

I have put two new files on our Youtube site so check them out. One is of a cell door in cell block 12 slamming shut and the other sounds like the whispering of a little child. We still have other evidence to go over from ESP along with all the evidence form our past June 12th investigation. Also this Friday the 9th we have another investigation in Reading at a private residence, so to say the least we will have a ton of evidence from past investigations to go over so i would imagine that most of the month of Aug will be evidence review!! every one's favorite thing to do! we have other investigations still in the works and of course our biggie in November in Ohio at Prospect Place. Investigation Tonight

ESPRS will be going to a private residence tonight. The home owner told us that when she just bought the home the past home owner disclosed to them that the home was haunted. claims of activity have been door knobs rattling, claims of mists and shadows in the attic. Were looking forward to investigating there tonight and we will keep you posted with any evidence collected from this location. Evidence from Easter State is still being reviewd and will be posted as soon as it is all collected, we have gotten some evps from there and will be posting them as soon as we clean them up and get everything set, there is still a few hours of video to review and we want to make sure we go over everything and throw out anything that may not be paranormal. Evidence Review Progress from the Adams house second investigation

I have currently posted up some of the evidence we have captured from our second trip to the Adams House. We are still in the process of going over everything but I have uploaded four new videos with possible evidence of the paranormal on our youtube site. So far we have a EVP of what we think is the word NO in direct response to a question, along with some banging, and knocking when asked for. So go check everything out and let us know what you think. Quick update from the Adams House this past Friday

We have finished up our re-investigation of the Adams house this past Friday the 16th. Was another relatively quite night with a few strange occurrences such as myself and Matt Mchale were down in the basement setting up the hi 8 night vision on the tripod and as we were watching the view finder to get the best angle down there, the camera itself turned off. We had to literally turn the camera off and back on again because the power button is a switch. We heard what we though was our equipment sliding on the floor downstairs while we did the initial walk threw when we were all upstairs, and we also heard and hopefully captured what we believe to be foot steps going up or down the stairs. We have a lot of audio and video to go over and will keep you updated on our findings. We also welcomed for the first time our newest member Megan Kowalewski who did an outstanding job and will be with us in a few short weeks again as we investigate Eastern State Penn. So keep checking back as we get rolling with things to come and evidence to be reviewed!

Update!! news, new members, equipment, and investigations

After a few snowy months off were back with a few new investigations. Friday April 16th we will be at the Adams house to revisit the home we originally visited last year with limited access now we will have full access to the entire house and the basement that we could not get into before along with new equipment and new members so stay tuned for more info and our findings on the Adams house revisited. Also the biggest news is in a few short weeks we will be headed for the first time to the Eastern State Penn in Philly. A very well documented haunted location and hopefully we can add to the evidence captured there by well known teams before us. Well just a quick look into the future and of things to come. ESPRS is putting together an investigation of the Eastern State Penitentiary. This will be in May and as it is a very big place to cover we will have a few folks from other groups joining in. After all you learn more and everything seems to go smoother with good collaboration. We do have a few others we are working on getting set up in and around the Berks county area as well. Also I am hoping to use a new investigating tool that I have been working on sometiime in the near future. New tools are cool but require lots of testing to work out the kinks so stay tuned to see what this may be. Shanley Hotel bed and breakfast in NY

Myself and Phill had the opportunity to do an investigation in New York at a bed and breakfast that has much documentation as to the paranormal activity that is there. We worked with members from PVPA and Connecticut Paranormal on this one and had a great time as well as caught a few very cool EVP's. The investigation was on Jan 9th and I am only getting caught up on the evidence review now. It seemed to be a fairly quiet night and even the folks that have been there before have said the same thing. However since I have started the evidence review I have 3 EVP's within about a 1 1/2 minute time frame. There is still more reviewing to be done so stay tuned for the results to be posted. I am sure there will be more on this in the very near future. Pagoda investigation from Dec 21st

Well we were very honored to be the first group to be able to get in and investigate the Pagoda. Sorry for the long delay in getting this information out. It was a tough investigation due to the fact that the outside perimeter lights are on most of the night and were unable to be turned off. This did cause a few extra shadow issues to be closely looked at when reviewing the evidence. A few members of our group did have some personal experiences but overall a very quiet night. We do have a KII session that is posted on youtube where we did get a few responses back when Phill and Anthony had a session in what may be considered a main ball room or conference room. The only other piece of evidence that will be posted soon will be a sound or maybe disembodied voice from the top floor where an old bell made in the 1700's is placed. To myself and Steve it sounded like a whistle at the time of investigation but in the audio review it sounds more like someone breathing heavily into the recorder. I will try to have this posted soon for your consideration and thoughts. It was a very cool place to investigate and I would love to be able to go back again sometime and do it again.

Debunked EMF

I have removed the last video I posted due to the fact that cell signals set off the EMF detector. Random signals, regardless if your getting a phone call or not, and in that video we were not getting a phone call, it was the only phone in the room. With that said, from now on the ESPRS will no longer use cell phones on investigations, at least not at the same time EMF/K2 are in use. I will re-edit the video and re-post without the EMF spike captured on the bed. Thanks to Donna Adams from Connecticut paranormal for the heads up.

This week and things to come!

Ok guys well here is a quick update on what the ESPRS has going on now and in the near future. As stated earlier, this week we will be the first to give a full paranormal investigation in the legendary Pagoda that sits on the mountainside overlooking Reading Pa. This place was built about 100 years ago and has had an interesting history and also has some artifacts inside that date back to the 1700's. This is happening this week and we will post any evidence that we are able to come up with. And in the future, very early 2010 to be exact, Phill and myself will be investigating the Shanley Hotel that is located in Napanoch N.Y. in conjunction with another group. This is a bed and breakfast that is said to be VERY active. Many experiences have been documented and this should prove to be interesting. The most active area is said to be the section of the hotel that was once a Bordello. We will be sure to share any and all encounters right here and keep you all posted. 11/20 Review and things to come

Good, or should I say great! news this post. ESPRS will be investigating, or should I say be the FIRST! paranormal investigation team to investigate the Pagoda in Reading PA. An amazing historical site and quite the honor for us here at ESPRS. As you may know I am Co-host of APRA radio. apraparanormal.com has been an inspiration for my team since we have started and ESPRS applies many of Apra's research and investigation techniques such as that APRA does mostly historical locations only and in their research have found that even though there may not be claims of paranormal activity in certain historical sites they are historical for a reason and have stories. We have talked with people from the Pagoda and have found that there are some stories of paranormal activity taking place from past employees. We have a date set for Dec. 18th and will update you as this historic investigation continues. as an update we are still finishing the review of our last investigation from 11/20 We have audio and some DVR left to review but all the mini DV's have been reviewed and with that said, please check out the youtube bar at the right of the screen and the first video is some of our first evidence found from the review so far. Evidence Review from 11/20 has started

We have started reviewing the evidence from the private residence we just investigated on 11/20. I have only gone through a few of the mini DV tapes so far but have already come up with some good evidence. I have posted the raw video of some occurrences that all happened back to back with myself and Steve investigating the second floor and the room the home owners father, who passed away, slept in. Since this is the raw video, you will need headphones and have the volume turned up on your PC when you listen for the first EVP that happens and the noise heard by myself and Steve while in the bedroom right before the EMF goes crazy on the bed next to the voice recorder and the ovulis, which actual then said the name Nancy after the EMF went crazy, only to find out later by the home owner that the man who had passed aways wife was named Nancy. Evidence Review from Private Business

We have concluded our review of evidence from the private business in Sinking Spring. We are thankful that we were able to investigate this location and have come up with answers to a lot of claims of activity. It was a big building with a rubber roof around most of it and a lot of noises that could be heard from one side of the building were just re verb from the other side and we figured that out from having two groups from the team on each side of the building at the same time. Although we didn't come up with anything on audio or video we had a great time investigating and coming up with solid normal reasons to the strange noises they were hearing there. Private Residence 9/25/09

The ESPRS has concluded its review of the evidence of the private residence in Harlem PA. The home in question was under re-construction and has a lot of exposed areas that would allow for you to hear from one room to another, as well as open windows without screens and mice that were running though the home. We did have a few personal experiences with direct responses to questions with knocking but with the elements and mice in the home its hard to call any of this paranormal. We do have one EVP where it sounds almost like a women humming however again its difficult to make out but I will post this on the site for you to judge for yourself. We would like to thank the family for having us out to this historic building in the middle of being rebuilt. It was an honor and a privilege to investigate this building and we would love to go back after further renovations have been completed for a more controlled environment. River Road Investigation

On 9/4/09 The ESPRS investigated a private residence just off of River Road in Reading PA. The clients there reported feelings of cold and being watched in areas such as the dining room and bathroom. In the dining room the client's grandmother had passed away. The client's grandfather had injured himself in the bathroom. During the night the family as well as the members of the ESPRS had many personal experiences with cold spots and noises. We are currently in the process of finalizing the evidence that we had captured this night. We had great success with the ghost box as well as you will hear on the video. Along with a few EVP's we had captured a few orbs that seem to be solid balls of energy that move on their own and disappear unlike dust or bugs that we have seen before along with shadow people. Again I will leave it up to you to tell me what you think these things could be. Shortly after my team and I finalize the evidence I will be uploading it for you viewing and listening pleasure. Again we would like to thank the clients for their hospitality and they are willing to have us back for a follow up investigation in the near future. William Penn fire tower re-investigation

On 8/28/2009 the ESPRS welcomed new member Anthony Tomeo as we re-investigated the William Penn Fire tower in Reading PA. At the beginning of the night, ESPRS co-founder Corrie had a personal experience near the top of the tower with the EMF detector and her digital camera. The meter was going off in her hand as she suddenly felt cold as well as experiencing a mist she said was walking up the stairs towards her(picture of what she saw coming up the stairs included) as well as footsteps on the spiral stairs where we have seem to caught the mist moving up the spiral stair case, include are a few pictures we have of that on the spiral stairs Also captured was this EVP we cant quite make out what is being said but this happens right before Corrie thinks somthing is coming up the stairs and we caught the mists in these pictures. The rest of the night seemed quiet. Welcome New Members and Re-visiting the Fire Tower

This Friday the 28th the ESPRS will be welcoming new members of its group with a re-investigation of the William Penn Fire Tower. We will be trying out new equipment including the ghost box to try and make direct contact with any spirits that may still remain there. A full report of our evidence will be posted as soon as it has all been reviewed. We hope to come out of there with a better understanding of what my still be within the walls of this historic land mark. Making it our second trip to this tower be assured as new equipment comes along, we will make return trips to many of our past and future investigations to help us get a better understanding of the paranormal to report back to the public. We believe that one investigation at a residence or public place will not do our field justice as we never know what may happen in a night. Adam's House Investigation

The ESPRS has concluded its investigation of the Adam’s house on Spook Ln in Reading PA. The night started off with an EVP session in the living room of the home and almost immediately after asking the third questions we all heard an audible response that sounded like a whisper that we could not make out and for some reason did not catch on tape, only our response to the whisper. There were some minor EMF spikes during the investigation on the steps of the old home that we caught on tape and have video of and at one point in the night I experienced an extreme cold spot in what we believe was the second floor bathroom of the home. For most of the night things were very quiet, but only quiet to the human ear. After reviewing the evidence we did get a good variety of EVP that are direct responses to questions. After listening to them it almost leads me to believe that while we didn’t think there was much activity in the home or maybe none at all, it may just have been that they were “shy” spirits, or at least spirits this night did not want to be bothered. My team and I were thrilled to have the opportunity to be at this historic location and many thanks to the water authority for letting us in there. At the time we were unaware that the only way into the basement was through the outside, which was locked, and at the time we had not had access to this. In the future we would love to come back to the Adams house and bring a ghost box/Franks box with us for a follow up investigation as well as have access to the basement of this historic building. Again many thanks to everyone involved in helping us with the opportunity to investigate this building. Adams House Spook Ln Investigation

Tonight 8/14/09 the ESPRS will be investigating the abandoned Adams farm house. The abandoned house now belongs to the local water authority who have made claims of activity ranging from apparitions in the windows looking out to lights going on in the home where there is no electricity as well as apparitions seen inside the home. So check back in then next few days for our report on this old farm house along with any evidence we may capture.

Aulenbach's Cemetery Research

The ESPRS has concluded its investigation of Aulenbachs cemetery. Although there were no personal experiences, and audio and video recordings seemed to not turn up any evidence of the paranormal there is this photograph of a mist similar to the one we caught in the William Penn memorial fire tower. I will post this picture along with some other photos we took of this old cemetery. Even though we had no personal experiences it was still and exciting time for us to be able to see some of the oldest grave sites in the area dating back to civil war times. It was a wonderful experience for us to be able to explore such history. The photo with the dolls is at a grave of a 2 year old girl named Rosie said to haunt the area. The other photo is of a mass unmarked grave site.

Evidence Review of July 31st Private Residence Investigation

After going over the evidence Audio and Video as well as the digital camera I will have to say that this home has an intelligent haunting by the results we got. This home has some personal attachment to me, it’s not the home I grew up in nor have I ever lived in this house, but it was the home that my grandfather had died in. Since then the home owner has experienced her dog acting strangely around the room where he had died as well as children in the home having conversations with things that were not there that pertained to my grandfather as stated in the pre interview I posted in the past. What more can I say then to let the evidence speak for itself, literally. You will see videos where questions are asked and directly responded to by making the EMF detector move when we ask for it to move. You will also see a few videos of EVP caught after the tapes were reviewed of moaning and a direct answer to a question. My thoughts on this are that the home owner still has a great attachment to the spirit in this home. I believe that she needs to tell the spirit to move on and that it may almost be trapped in the home because of this. A full report along with my feelings on this haunting will be presented to the home owner by the time of this posting. Private residence investigation July 31st, 2009 research

For the case of the private residence located in Stony Creek Mills, I have conducted a interview prior to the investigation on the phone with the owners of the home. The owners have claimed since the passing of the owners father in the home who died there while on hospice, that the family dog has been acting strange in the room where the man had passed away by sitting right out outside the room for some time, prancing around the room like he was there as well. Also noting that grandchildren around the age of 2 would talk and hold conversations with someone who was not there, but more importantly, conversations that would have to do with the man who died in the home. According to some, children are more adapt to the paranormal or ghosts then most adults. Also to note that these activities have been occurring for the past two years and not something that the dog is grieving over any longer as the dog still acts if he is there with her.

Evidence Review of July 17th William Penn Fire Tower Investigation

The fire tower was originally built in the 1800’s out of wood. In April of 1923 the tower was burned down to the ground by arson. A can of gasoline was found at the site. During its reconstruction it is said that a man had died while working on the building as well as the grounds keepers, Marsha and Earl Walker, had also passed on after the restoration of the Tower itself. It is said that you can hear foot steps on the steel stairs, knocking and other strange noises. This is one of Reading PA’s most famous landmarks and the ESPRS is greatly appreciative to have had the opportunity to investigate the tower and hopes to go back in the future.

The investigation started around 8:15pm when members of the ESPRS first showed up to the fire tower, pictures were taken of the outside and the area was walked around, the property is enclosed by a chain link fence and pad locked shut. Once we were inside we were locked into the area. Lights out at about 8:35 and the investigation began. Equipment that was brought along for this was an EMF detector, Mini DV recorder with low light recording, digital voice recorder and digital cameras.

Fire Tower investigation Video Evidence Review.

8 Minuets and 18 seconds through 8 minuets 26 seconds unexplained knocking after asking if whoever was with us was happy with the restoration of the tower.

Martha and Earl Walker were the care takers of the William Penn fire tower in the 50's,60's, and 70's .

35:26 we start talking about the walker family the care takers of the tower and the family spent countless hours in this building. They have since passed. At 35:41 you see boxes stacked up on each other at 36:55 you hear the boxes moving

38 minuets Kate is focused on the boxes that just moved she noticed earlier that the camera went out of focus and seconds later at 38:18/19 they go out of focus again without the camera moving and nothing in front?

51:44 Disembodied voice like a Moaning through 52 minuets. Steve had been upstairs and asked if it was a car that went by, however myself, Cory, and Kate were all downstairs looking out the windows and saw no cars or headlights reflecting as they would when one did go past.

Check out the mist that was caught on camera. You will be able to see that all these pictures are taken with the same camera and no other picture shows the mist captured.

Aulenbach's Cemetery Research

The ESPRS will be conducting its third investigation at the Aulenbach’s cemetery. Plots dating back to the 1800’s, Aulenbach’s cemetery is home to over 500 Civil War soldiers as well as Ida and Stockton Snyder who are buried side by side for over 100 years, were very charitable people that died tragically in a train accident. The funeral train that brought the body’s home drew some 24,000 people in Reading to watch them come home and be buried in the Aulenbach’s cemetery. Claims of activity have been batteries going dead and draining quickly, orbs have been photographed, and unexplained noises though out the 34 acres of buried history.

Check back after the investigation for any evidence gathered by the ESPRS.
